Rose Absolute is solvent extracted from petals of the Rose (Rosa Damascena India). Rose Absolute is an orange yellow, orange reddish or slightly olive yellowish liquid of extremely rich, warm, spicy floral and very deep rose odor with a more or less pronounced honey like back note. The rose absolute diffusive power is only realized when the absolute is diluted or used at the concentration of a few percent or even less in a perfume base. Rose oil, meaning either rose Otto (attar of rose, attar of roses) or rose absolute, is the essential oil extracted from the petals of various types of rose. Rose ottos are extracted through steam distillation, while rose absolutes are obtained through solvent extraction or supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, with the absolute being used more commonly in perfumery. Approximately 4000 kilograms of petals are required to produce 1 kilogram of pure rose oil. When it is applied on dry skin, it nourishes the skin and helps it to retain moisture. Regular application of the oil on the discolored skin will restore the normal skin color. It can be used directly on open wounds and cuts on the skin surface. Firstly, it will contract the blood vessels of the affected area and stop the bleeding. Then its antiseptic qualities protect the wound from infections. In aromatherapy, it is popularly used for body massage. Here, this essential oil work as an antidepressant that eases off the tension from the nerves.
